What Hairstyles to Look Out for at London Fashion Week

Authored By Cliphair Extensions

It is almost time for the prestigious London Fashion Week to begin in earnest. This A/W rotation for 2016 promises to be something very special indeed. Not only will it see the return of an Alexander McQueen collection to LFW – which we cannot wait for – there are also whispers of a secret performance from none other than Kanye West himself.

Whether you love him or hate him (especially after the month that he’s been having), there is no denying that his presence at London Fashion Week would guarantee excitement. So, with only a day until the fun and front row frolics start, it is time to swot up on the hottest looks of the spring. What hairstyles should you be looking out for this year?

This guide to the hottest ‘dos to spot and steal at London Fashion Week will help you find some creative new ideas for your hair.

The Sequined Princess

If you are a fan of all things pretty, you are going to love this trend. The sequins and glitter look is super feminine, lots of fun, and perfect for girls who like to look different. One of the best things about this style is that you can repurpose it in any way that you like. While the ladies on the catwalk have (unsurprisingly) been sporting quite loud styles – think lots of glitter and colour – you can take things down a notch and use glittery hairspray.

The Low Maintenance Tomboy

We are huge fans of this look, because there is nothing all that masculine about it really. However, it is very low maintenance and super functional. It could be worn to work, out on a date, while grabbing coffee with friends, or while on the high street. To steal it, keep curls to a minimum and create a flawless centre parting. If necessary, use a pintail comb to hold and then blast dry firm hold hairspray into the roots.

The Seventies Movie Star

If you are looking for a new hairstyle to try out your clip in hair extensions on, we have the perfect idea. This truly beautiful, but very seventies, curled ‘do from the DAKS show is half bouffant babe and half sultry eyed temptress. It is quite a bold look, so it is probably best left to ladies who can wear it with supreme confidence. Use large rollers to introduce the curls, but remember to curl in different directions for this one.

The Classic Rope Pony

It has been a while since we’ve seen this classic look. The ponytail itself never goes out of fashion – it is popular with everybody from Rihanna to Kate Middleton. This super long, crazy glamorous rope style, however, is almost evocative of the sixties. What with the movie start curls and the retro vibes going round in fashion circles right now, it looks like London Fashion Week is set to be a celebration of the past. To steal this style, use hair extensions to create an absurdly long, very simple twisted pony.

The Crimped Front & Sides

Designer Roksanda Illinic has been sending beautiful waif like models down the catwalk with an interesting and rather delicate hairstyle. The emphasis is on long locks, poker straight, and with minimal definition – not too much product or firm hold. The look is topped off with a gently crimped front and sides. This is the only bit of the hair that is crimped, so the ‘do has an elegantly dishevelled feel. It would look great at a casual dinner party or worn while wandering round a vintage fair in the summer.
