This weekend was a memorable one for all the wrong reasons. Everybody knows about the attack at Pulse nightclub, in Orlando, but it wasn’t the only gun related tragedy to occur in the city. On Saturday, popular singer and former The Voice contestant, Christina Grimmie, was shot and killed by a fan. The senseless act has left both fans and musicians in disbelief. And, there is one singer in particular who is truly heartbroken.

Selena Gomez and Christina Grimmie had been close friends, ever since her parents discovered Grimmie and offered to manage her. She was just fourteen years old at the time, but the two girls would go on to be best buds. Over the weekend, Gomez performed an emotional tribute to her late friend. She showed her true strength and her passion by continuing to perform, even though the moment was clearly very tough.

The Latina Lovely

The Come and Get It singer is very proud of her Hispanic roots and always brings plenty of Latin fire and passion to her shows. We think that this look is reminiscent of another big Latin star early on in her career. There is definitely a touch of Jennifer Lopez here, with that big backcombed updo and low key ‘off duty diva’ outfit. If you want to steal it, you have to get your pony or bun up high, so a decent bit of length will make this easier. The Seventies Side Sweep

This is a rather toned down and subtle look for the singer, because she’s quite fond of big curls and showy styles. It sees her vibing on a kind of seventies style, with that casual side sweep and those John Lennon shades. It’s a soft look, but it works wonderfully with her textured, layered cut. This one is best for girls who love that tousled, shaggy bed head look. It’s a little bit sexy and more than a little bit cool. This has to be one of our favourite Selena Gomez styles, as it’s the perfect example of just how much her look and attitude has changed over the last few years. Like her fellow Disney stars, Gomez is no longer a sweet faced child. She’s sultry, sophisticated, and keen to show the world that she‘s tough enough to eat fame for breakfast. Plus, there is some major hair extension work going on here; just look at those glossy lengths! The style itself couldn’t be more basic – it’s just a down ‘do with a centre parting, but the length really elevates it.
