You know you’ve got a hit show on your hands when the entire world can’t stop talking about it, even when it’s not actually on TV. The much anticipated season premiere of Game of Thrones season six aired on Sunday. And, we’re all gossiping about it. At our desks, over lunch, with our lovers, and pretty much all over the place online.
There were some big surprises, even for avid fans of the books who thought that they were on top of the plot. We won’t give anything away, but let’s just say that the Red Lady was an unexpected star of the show. It was great to get back to Dany too and her plight at the hands of a new Dothraki horde. She may have been covered in dirt and tied to a horse, but she still managed to look like the one true Queen of Westeros.
The beautiful actress who plays her is of course Emilia Clarke, who recently wowed at a red carpet event with a brand new bob hairdo. It isn’t the only time that her hair has dazzled though, so let’s take a closer look at some of her best hairstyle moments.
The Fierce Khaleesi
In truth, no hairstyle that this actress ever decides to rock will eclipse the huge influence and popularity of the one that made her famous; the iconic Khalessi blonde. Over the years since Game of Thrones first hit TV screens, fans have been dyeing their hair peroxide blonde to try and emulate their favourite royal in exile. This is a tricky one to master, because you need to dye your hair a lighter tone (especially if it’s dark now), before a peroxide dye job can be successful. It’s better to visit a salon if you want to steal this style. Otherwise, you could end up looking more like Ron Weasley than Khaleesi!
The Brand New Bob
We can’t talk about the Mother of Dragons and her hair without mentioning how insanely gorgeous she looks with a bob. We suspect that a lot of long term cast members, in big shows, actually cut their hair after shooting to have a rest from the character. Whether Emilia is trying to shake Dany for a while or not, her bob adds femininity, freshness, and style. It’s funky and fun, without being too severe, which is important because she has quite delicate features.
The Fifties Screen Siren
The Breaker of Chains wore this stunning fifties style at a charitable event in San Fran earlier this year. It can be hard to pull off something this retro, but she did so effortlessly. The defined side parting perfectly complements those vintage-esque rolled curls. With one side tucked delicately behind her ear and the other loose and undulating, the actress is every bit the red carpet star. If you want to steal this style, but you prefer to keep your hair long, tease your clip in extensions around a low heat. Then, curl the ends inwards, towards your neck.
The Wet Look Updo
Emilia Clarke recently wowed with a super sultry spread in Vogue. Not only were her clothes divine, she also got to show off this stylish wet look ‘do. The wet look is all the rage across catwalks at the moment, so it’s a current and contemporary choice. Plus, it allows her features to shine. This style has been given some personality and character with a slick and chic pony, worn low on the nape of the neck. The front, however, is flawless, with not a hair out of place. This is what you need to do if you want to grab the style for yourself and give the Mother of Dragons a run for her money.
