As the saying goes there’s no business like show business and there is no night more apt for celebrating the wonders of the theatre world like the Olivier awards. We love the sparkle of the big movie awards but there is nothing like British talent, new and old, being celebrated for their amazing performances, right in the heart of London. It will come to you as no surprise that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child swept the floor with the other candidates, winning more than eight Olivier Award prizes. Local talent also gives us a chance to bring out some local style and glamor. Keep reading to see some of the hottest stars from the night and how they celebrated in style.

Billie Piper
Billie Piper is usually all pastel but she has gone dark swan for this year’s event, and we approve! If you have golden undertone skin like Billie does showing it off with a black strapless gown is the right move. This look is worthy of the title Best Actress, her performance in Yerma and on the red carpet were equally impressive. We love Billie’s messy up do as well. This easy clipped back do is amazing. This back combed and tussled mane is the perfect texture to match her feathered gown. If you want to save yourself the endless detangling the next morning pop in some wavy extensions. When we don’t have a clan of hair stylists these tricks are key.

Amanda Holden
This event seem all about the up dos, this warmer weather makes it so much easier to get that sun kissed skin and show off you Marilyn like bobbed waves and curls. Speaking of which Amanda Holden certainly know how to style her normally beach babe hair. This style has the best of both worlds, it shows off her ridiculously high cheek bones and her side fringe makes it flowing and feminine. Not all of us can pull off a yellow gown like this one if you have pale skin or a skin with yellow undertones, steer clear and opt for a dress and a hair colour with more of a golden undertones. She is a real life Beauty, without the Beast.

Claire Sweeney
The first to arrive and opening up the awards with style Claire Sweeney set the beauty bar very high for the evening. With such a bright and decorative dress there was no better paring than this classic and classy chignon, high, swept back and sexy. Extra long hair is key for this style, you will need enough for volume at the front and length to create you perfectly looped bun at the back. For that extra shabang copy Claire and wrap a few strands of your hair around where your elastic would be placed. We love to see the result without the effort. If you have lovely deep eyes like Claire Sweeney a beautiful bright dress and eye catching lipstick like this is perfect for bringing our your naturally rosy features.
