Supermodel Jourdan Dunn has modelled for the most highly regarded photographers on the planet. She’s appeared in Vogue, Elle, I-D, Dazed and Confused, Centrefold, and a whole heap of other publications. As she now has one of the most recognisable faces in the world, it’s fair to say that Jourdan Dunn was born to model.
However, the path to fame and fortune hasn’t always run smoothly. In 2009, after only three years on the catwalk, she announced her first pregnancy in Teen Vogue. Yes, that’s right; she was only 18 and, of course, the media had a field day. Rather remarkably, Dunn continued to walk and even modelled at the 2010 Jean Paul Gaultier show with a noticeable baby bump.
It’s refreshing to discover a model who isn’t interested in conforming to stereotypes. We love Jourdan Dunn, here at ClipHair, and we’re going to show you how to steal some of her finest hairstyles.
The Backstage Down ‘Do
Even supermodels don’t spend every moment of the working week in front of a camera. Although, ironically, most of them do immediately start snapping Instagram pictures as soon as professional shoots are finished. Jourdan Dunn is no exception; she frequently posts candid behind the scenes shots while out on jobs. She’s taking advantage of a softer, more tousled style in this one. Those honey blonde balayage tones are flawless and you can get them for yourself with our selection of clip in highlights.
The Bob from the Future
Just like Queen Bey, Gigi Hadid, and that insane dress worn by Homeland star Claire Danes, Jourdan Dunn stepped out at the Met Gala looking fabulous. She certainly stuck to the theme this year too, with a gorgeous metallic ‘fashion meets future’ bob. It’s dark at the roots and an incredible silvery purple colour further down the lengths. We’re not entirely sure how she pulled this one off, but we reckon her hairstylist deserves a drink and a big box of chocolates. The icy tone could have been a little harsh, but that slight curl adds softness.
The Purple Pow-Wow
This is definitely up there with the boldest hairstyles of the year and we’ve not even officially reached summertime yet. At Coachella 2016, the supermodel wowed with a full head of bright purple curls and ringlets. Pastel colours are massive right now, so this style is bang on trend, but you’ve got to be bold to pull it off. If you want to steal this one, pick up some luscious purple hair extensions and get to work with those curling irons. Clip in extensions are a really easy way to experiment with bold trends, because they give you the chance to play with temporary colour.
The Uncomplicated Superstar
We love this pretty simple, low slung bun hairstyle, because it’s perfect for a low maintenance evening or afternoon. There are just some days when you don’t want to be sat in front of the mirror styling for hours, so it’s always useful to have a few basic, but elegant, styles to hand. This one is really easy to replicate. You just need to bring your tresses down and together, into a tight bun, just above the nape of your neck. Leave a couple of supermodel strands loose to frame your face, a la Jourdan Dunn, and you’ll be stepping out with flawless locks in about 10-20 minutes.
