This week, the 2015 Oscar nominees were announced. As usual, there were some surprises and there were some choices that everybody saw coming a mile off. The role of Jane Hawking, played by Felicity Jones, in The Theory of Everything, is firmly in the latter category. Alongside Eddie Redmayne, as Stephen Hawking, Jones has artfully depicted one of the most influential British couples of all time.
She always manages to look like a total goddess too – those eyes, those cheekbones, that beautiful alabaster skin. Her hair is similarly gorgeous, and lends itself to all kinds of different styles. She has rocked longer tresses (in films like Chalet Girl), but has also sported edgier bob styles, like the one she wears currently. We love Felicity Jones here at ClipHair, and we wish her all the best for the Oscars.
We are also going to try and steal a few of her best styles this February.
The Classic Bun
The British beauty is very fond of this simple style. She is often seen on the red carpet with an elegant bun, framed by a flawlessly side swept fringe. This was her hairstyle choice for both the Golden Globes and the BAFTA Tea Party, and it looked fabulous on both occasions. It is a look which suits her English Rose demeanour and complexion, because its simplicity allows her delicate features to take precedence. If you want to steal this style, pull your locks into a neat bun, and then slick it back with a small amount of hair spray or gel. The trick is to get this style looking perfect, but not too rigid.
The Sleek Bob
For a short while, before she got used to her now signature messy crop, Felicity Jones looked tremendous with a sleek and sultry bob. It was poker straight, with a slightly parted fringe. Whilst the star tends to opt for more ‘old Hollywood’ styles, this was a young look, and it perfectly complemented that twinkle in her eye that we have all come to know and love. You can replicate this style with slightly longer tresses (Jones wore her bob at chin length), but do make sure to get those straightening irons and nice and hot – you want poker straight lock for this one.
The Rock Chick
In 2011, Felicity debuted an edgy new look at the National Board of Review Awards Gala. She mixed up her trademark poker straight style, for an artfully mussed up rock chick vibe. Once again, this style highlighted just how amazingly youthful she manages to look – can you believe that she is actually 31? For a quick steal, pick up one of our medium length (longer, if you want a more flowing look) clip in extension pieces, and curl it gently at the bottom. The best thing about this style is that it starts out gentle from the top, and gets ‘messier’ towards the ends.
The Loose Ponytail
For a more laid back style, take this clip in hair piece and pull it gently up into a loose ponytail, just like the one Felicity wore at the Hollywood Film Awards Gala. This look is soft, but elegant – it will not take you an age to create either. If you are trying to put together a hairstyle for a special event, you can make this look even more glamorous by turning it into a half up, half down affair. You shouldn’t worry about getting every hair in place, because Felicity rocked this look in characteristically mussed up fashion, and you can too.
