Supermodel Chrissy Teigen is one of the most famous women on the planet, but even she can’t escape the curse of social media. Just recently, the supermodel was criticised online, after she left her newborn baby at home and headed out on a fancy date night.
It isn’t the first time that the catwalk queen has ‘broken ranks’ and told us something that we already suspected about being a famous parent; that babies are messy and chaotic no matter whether you work in an office or stomp the runway for a living. It’s this willingness to be real and fallible that has earned Chrissy Teigen an army of fans big enough to eclipse the haters.
To celebrate the hottest mama since Demi Moore made history on the cover of Vanity Fair, we’re going to take a look at Chrissy Teigen’s best hairstyle moments.
The Ultimate Wob
Just a couple of months ago, the new mum was sporting a gorgeous wob style, with delicate sombre highlights. Just recently, she’s been photographed with much longer tresses and more pronounced highlights, so we know she must be a big fan of her hair extensions. If you can’t get enough of yours either, you’ve got the opportunity (like Chrissy) to switch between short and longer styles. In fact, one of the biggest benefits of opting for the wob cut is that it gives tired follicles a chance to recover from years of styling and dye jobs. And, you can mix it up with your clip in hair extensions whenever you miss having all of that length.
The Balayage Babe
After wearing a funky wob style for a while, Chrissy reverted back to her favourite look of all; long and flowing locks, with glamorous balayage highlights. The good news is that this is something that you can steal for yourself. You can either head to a salon for some professional highlights or you can create your own with a clever DIY dye job. As a general rule of thumb, make sure that your lightest colour isn’t more than three shades lighter than your natural hair or clip in extensions. Like Chrissy, apply the highlights in a ‘feathered’ effect, with the roots staying largely untouched and the ends becoming sun kissed and golden.
The Glamorous Mama Bear
At the 2016 Oscars, Chrissy Teigen not only managed to wow the crowds in a beautiful, figure hugging gown, she did it while heavily pregnant. We take our hats off to her, because an awards ceremony that drags on as long as the Academy Awards must have been hell on the feet. Ever the style maven, the model teamed her ornate dress with an elegant fishtail braid, worn chunky and high, to add that little bit of drama and volume. The front is backcombed to lift the hair and elevate it from ‘dinner date’ to ‘red carpet dazzler.’
The Low Maintenance Topknot
This simple, but pretty cool, topknot is the kind of hairstyle that models just seem to perfect without trying. However, it’s also a good choice for girls who are in a rush and don’t have time to wash and properly style their extensions. The look hides a multitude of sins, because unwashed or greasy tresses are pulled up and into a twisted bun. Like Chrissy, you can make something special of highlight that are overdue a touch up too; just wear your bun or topknot high and make sure that the ends of your hair are tucked away for a flawless effect.
