This tutorial is what it says on the tin. Mermaid waves are great but when I am thinking of romance big waves are a must. They are much easier to control and will fall faultlessly without fail. Today I want to show you how to master these waves so they are big and full of volume. If you love loose waves as much as I do, keep reading this step-by-step tutorial and don’t forget to #wearcliphair to show it off pre-date night!
Step number 1: sort your base
Before you go onto creating your waves you must make sure that you have your base sorted. I always create mine waved from newly washed locks. I add some conditioning spray or rinse with apple cider vinegar to make sure that my hair is really soft. This will contribute to the flowing look. If you want to give your have a bit more ‘worn in’ style lift your hair and add texture spray down the lower 2/3rds of your hair.
Step number 2: turn up the heat
That’s right, it is time to dry your hair. This might sound really silly but blow-drying your hair in a certain way can help you in some serious volume. Flip your head forward and start to dry your head from the underneath. If you are going to brush your hair whilst you are drying it make sure you brush your hair upwards so you encourage your roots to set in this direction. Add a bit of light-hold hairspray before you flip your hair back up. It may feel like you are giving your arms a workout but it really helps.
Step number 3: create your waves
Now you have is looking fuller at your roots you can pop in your extensions so you have this thickness down the length of your hair. Create a side part and separate your hair at the crown, pinning it out of the way for now. Take a 1-inch section of hair near your hairline and wrap it around your curling wand. You want it to be as evenly wound as possible to get the most perfect curl you can. Run a comb through your curl before you move onto the next section. Working in rows from the nape of your neck upwards will make it much easier for you to see what you have achieved. Before you work on the crown section gently tease the roots, this gives you that extra glam look. After you have finished curling all of your hair flip your hair forward and shake your hair before you add some hairspray. You are ready to rock your day!
