Amazing pumpkin DIY hair mask, perfect for Halloween ready hair

Amazing pumpkin DIY hair mask, perfect for Halloween ready hair
Authored By Cliphair Extensions

Halloween in coming so some of our favourite halloween treats and flavours are coming back too. The first thing when I think of halloween is pumpkin. You carve with it and can make delicious treats with it. It is also super good for your hair. I was so inspired I went on a search to see how I could use pumpkin in my hair routine and what it would do. Pumpkin is incredible for providing nutrients to your hair that can encourage it to grow and condition your locks properly. Keep reading this step-by-step guide.

This is a simple recipe but it is so affective and vegan. If you are based in the US these ingredients won’t seem out of the ordinary but if you are in the UK like me, you will be able to find it in the seasonal section of a grocery shop. Coconut oil, maple syrup and pumpkin puree will be be required for this amazing treatment. If you care find pumpkin puree, keep what you scoop out whilst you carve your pumpkin and blend the innards to make a lovely puree. You will need one tablespoon of coconut oil, one tablespoon of your pumpkin puree and a quarter of a teaspoon of maple syrup.

Creating the mask

Put all of the ingredients mentioned into a bowl and mix together to form a paste. If you are just going to use this on your Cliphair extensions, this will be enough but if you are going to use it on your own hair as well I would make double. I always find coconut oil easier to blend one it is softened so I put that in the microwave for 10 seconds before I mix it with the pumpkin puree and the maple syrup. Mix it until you are happy with the consistency and it is as simple as that.

This treatment is perfect for applying to dry hair but divide your locks into sections so it is easy to apply. Once the coconut oil has started to solidify and you have sectioned your hair into quarters smooth the treatment into your hair from the roots down to your ends. Like all treatments focus the pumpkin treatment on your ends, when the nourishment will be the most affective.

The waiting game

Once you have all of your hair covered with your treatment do it up in a bun. It is time to play the waiting game so the treatment can soak in. it will need at least a couple of hours whist you hang around the house but I tend to leave it in overnight for the best result.

Washing it out

This treatment is extremely easy to wash out. You simply use your sulphate free shampoo and conditioner as normal. If you come to an area that the maple syrup has built up in put a little coconut oil on a comb and comb it through before you shampoo and condition.
