We just can’t handle all of the celebrity breakups going down right now. It’s like Johnny Depp and Amber Heard opened the floodgates. Angelina and Brad are no more. Charlize Theron and her hubby Liev Schreiber are splitsville. And now 2 Broke Girls actress Kat Dennings has broken off her relationship with singer Josh Groban. What is in the water right now in Hollywood?
At least the quirky star has something to look forward to in the upcoming season of her hit television show. Alongside her co-star, she’s been getting fans excited for series six by posting a lot of goofy pics to Instagram. Dennings has had a tough year already, what with the unexpected death of close friend Anton Yelchin. But she’s stayed positive, continued to be a really cool presence on our TV screens, and looked fabulous all the while.
To celebrate the imminent return of 2 Broke Girls, we’re going to look at some of her best hairstyles and the easiest ways to steal them.
The Salon Simple
This rather relaxed ‘do is simple, but sometimes, going back to basics is what it’s all about. And would you just look at that gorgeous hair accessory. If you want to let the health and vitality of your hair make its own impact, this is the way to do it. Wash and condition your tresses, then blow dry them to create loose, tousled waves. Add a high shine gloss or hairspray for a boost of extra glamour. It is up to you what kind of clip or slide you add, but a wide one like this is very effective, as it pulls the hair gently inwards and keeps it tidy.
The Stylish Friend
It’s no surprise that Kat Dennings loves this photo. It shows herself and late pal Anton Yelchin looking effortlessly cool and stylish. The loss of the young Star Trek actor provoked an outpouring of emotion in Hollywood and Dennings has always been keen to share her memories of him. She looks cute and casual here, with a pair of French braids. The addition of oversized hat is a clever move, as it give the style that ‘LA chic’ appeal. If you’ve got quite fine hair, using clip in hair extensions to boost its volume will result in braids that are longer, healthier looking, and more beautiful.
The Girl with the Hot Hair Game
Here, Dennings is keeping things quite simple again. She doesn’t really go in for fancy or overly complex ‘dos. She’s straightened her long, dark locks and tucked them behind her ears for an elegant, modern vibe. A slightly off centre parting works best for this style, because too much symmetry can make it look a bit dull. So, work those asymmetric bangs and style your extensions to glossy, luscious perfection. To get a good blend and hide those seams, attach your tensions beneath a layer of your own hair and use your fingertips to mix the two sections.
The Retro Roller Curls
For a much fancier, much more red carpet style, take some inspiration from Kat and her tumbling retro curls. You’ll need a good pair of curling irons to create this one, because the curls are only halfway the way there. If you look closely, you’ll see that they turn in towards the face, but are looser on the other side. This is the trick to mastering this one; all of the undulating waves need to be curling in the same direction. Start at the roots and get slightly looser and less pronounced as you work towards the ends.
