This week, former Coronation Street star and all round babe Michelle Keegan has found herself at the centre of an odd little scandal. She’s currently in Majorca filming a drama about football legend Bobby Moore. But, it hasn’t been plain sailing, because a group of German tourists staying in the same hotel staged a protest and disrupted the shoot.
They refused to leave the poolside set and, eventually, forced the crew to find a new one. According to reports, they weren’t keen on having their sunbathing disrupted, especially by a movie about the man who helped England beat them to win the World Cup. Fortunately, the shoot is now running smoothing again and Keegan looks utterly amazing.
She’s had to dye her hair blonde for the role, which we think looks fantastic. The actress, however, has been very vocal about missing her usual shade, so we expect her to go back to the dark side soon. Let’s take a look at some of her other key hairstyle moments:
The Toughest Girl on Telly
Keegan has just starred in TV drama Our Girl, on the BBC, and fans can’t get enough. The series has ended, but they’re still talking about that big moment. If you like your heroines to be tough as nails and downright adorable to boot, you can watch the show on catch up TV. To play feisty soldier Georgie Lane, Keegan had to embrace her practical side and swap glamorous ‘dos for low maintenance styles. Somehow though, she still looks every bit as gorgeous running round in fatigues and a rough ponytail as she does on the red carpet.
The Lipsy Lovely
Fortunately, the actress has some more glamorous roles under her belt as well. She is also acting ambassador and the current poster girl for clothing brand Lipsy. Check out this slinky, sultry little number, with just a hint of eighties bounce. Here, her hair has the kind of body that comes from hours of intensive styling, but we know that you can fake it. Get yourself some clip in hair extensions and securely attach them to unwashed hair. Then, take a broad backed brush and flip your head upside down. Spend 5-10 minutes vigorously backcombing so that the front of your hair stands tall when you flip it back. Finally, douse liberally with hairspray.
The Star of the BAFTAs
Michelle Keegan is the type of star that never disappoints at big red carpet events and awards shows. She knows exactly how to dress for her shape, what colours suit her skin tone, and how to match her hair to her outfit. Either, she has an amazing team working everything out behind closed doors or she’s a style wonder woman. We love this gorgeous chignon style updo and can’t help but notice how much she resembles Kate Beckinsale here. They both have a fondness for awfully sophisticated, but ever so slightly tousled, red carpet looks.
The Blonde in the Story
While her new drama might be about Bobby Moore, all eyes are firmly on Michelle Keegan right now. She’s looking exquisite as Tina Moore, with a lovely honey blonde tone to her tresses. Apparently, she’s not big on the shade, but there’s no denying that it suits her just as well as a darker one. If you want to experiment with a brand new colour, the best approach is to pick up some clip in highlights first and see if you like the effect before you go permanent. Or, for a subtler change, you could even experiment with our clip in fringe pieces.
