New Year’s Hair Resolutions
As one year ends, another year begins – and a whole new world of opportunities opens up. In 2021, there will be new experiences, new friends, new memories, and for some, new jobs and new hairstyles too. In fact, daring to treat your tresses to something a little different is one of the very best ways to ensure that the New Year starts with a bang.
You might be interested in experimenting with a bold colour, a la Kylie Jenner. Or, you could fancy stepping out with a fresh set of bangs, just like Beyoncé did. If you are feeling extra daring, why not go for the chop like The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting? If you do decide to go for a shorter style, you can always mix and match your looks with a clip in extension piece.
No matter what you decide to do with your hair this January, it is time to make 2015 the year that you really look after your locks. It does not take a lot of time, or even a lot of money these days, to keep your hair well-conditioned, moisturised and shiny throughout both the winter and summer months. This is a ClipHair guide to the New Year’s hair resolutions that you should be making this year.
Out With the Old, in With the New
You wouldn’t leave a fridge filled with groceries that had passed their sell by date, so why would you pack a bathroom cupboard or beauty cabinet with hair products that have definitely seen better days? It is fairly common to forget that beauty products do have use by dates, and they have them for a reason. You do not want to be coating your tresses in two year old hair gel just before a big night out, because you will only end up with desperately dry locks in the morning. This January, have a clear out and buy yourself some quality shampoo, conditioner and hairspray.
Time to Stop Masque-ing Your Flaws
There are times when haircare just isn’t the most exciting prospect in the world, when you would much rather snuggle up on the sofa for an episode of New Girl than spend an hour in the bathroom deep conditioning. Fortunately, with a hair masque, you can do both – all you need to do is apply it to your locks, and then leave it to work its magic for 30 to 40 minutes. These wonder products are very affordable, widely available, and will give you the type of shine that is only usually flaunted by one of the Kardashian sisters.
You Can Teach a Girl New Tricks
The easiest way to make sure that you take advantage of all of the hair opportunities open to you this year is to teach yourself something new. It can be anything that you like – how to curl using rollers, how to crimp, or even how to master the fishtail braid. This last skill can be a really tricky one, so it could take some time and an extra pair of hands. It is all about embracing new styles and techniques, because your hair cannot evolve if you don’t evolve. For all of you lazy gals out there, there is no need to panic, because there are a hundred different looks that can be created in just a few minutes.
Washing Away Those Haircare Sins
If you stick to one New Year’s Hair resolution this year, make it this one. The vast majority of people do not follow this key piece of advice, even though it can make a huge difference to the health of their hair. On a weekly basis, take your hairbrush and give it a thorough wash. This means emptying it of hair, and applying a little shampoo to keep it squeaky clean and spotless. It does not have to be a big job, and you can do it very easily whilst you are in the shower. By cleaning your hairbrush, you get rid of all the dirt that you have removed from your locks for good – rather than simply dragging it back through your nice, clean tresses again.
Putting a Brave Face on Your Hair
It really is time to start experimenting with all of those looks that you have been desperate to try, but too scared to jump feet first into. What have you got to lose? Come on, say it with us – I will be brave this year, and my hair will look fabulous for it. You don’t even have to commit to a dramatic new look, if the prospect leaves you wobbly at the knees. You could always play around with a new length or colour, by investing in a set of quality clip in extension pieces from ClipHair. There is no easier way to shake up your look this year.
We wish you a very happy new year!
