What is a Wave Comb?

A Wave Comb is a variation of a wide tooth comb mainly used to soften curls and create softer more fluid waves during styling. Wide-tooth combs are also favoured over other comb varieties for detangling wet hair as they rarely catch or snag causing less tension or damage.

Are wide tooth combs better than brushes?

It’s always best to start with a wide tooth or wave comb when brushing out curls to create waves as you have much more control over the level of looseness you are creating than with a brush that would pull all the movement out almost instantly.

Can you use a Wave Comb on hair extensions?

Yes! If you are wearing Clip-Ins you will want to avoid the seam area as the teeth could get caught but as a wave comb is predominantly used on the mid-lengths and ends of the hair this should not be a problem.

How to brush out curls with a Wave Comb?

After the hair or hair extensions have been curled using either a straightener or curling wand, let the hair cool down for 5-10 minutes to allow the style to set. Once the hair is totally cool, simply glide the wave comb through the mid-lengths and ends of the hair to loosen the curls into soft, glamourous waves. This foolproof method allows anyone to achieve a stunning hairstyle that looks and feels as though it's been created at the salon!
