The Best Long Hairstyles of 2016

Authored By Cliphair Extensions

This is the time of year when ‘Best Of’ lists are everywhere. Best red carpet dresses, best Instagram posts, best celebrity hairstyles; you name it, we love it. They are a great opportunity to look back at the last twelve months and remind ourselves of all the bits that were actually pretty awesome.

As 2016 has had more than its fair share of downs, now is the time to shed some light on all the things that have made us smile and given us some serious style envy. We’re going to take a closer look at a few our favourite long ‘dos of the year.

Kylie Jenner’s Platinum Blonde Hair

No end of year list would be complete without selfie queen Kylie Jenner. Surely, by this point, she’s taking 70% of the world’s Instagram pics. You either love her or you hate her, but you can’t disagree with the fact that her hair constantly looks impeccable. She recently switched up her locks again. This time, she’s rocking a gorgeous platinum blonde, with tumbling curls. Curiously, it’s a bit old school; almost reminiscent of fifties screen siren Jayne Mansfield.

Chrissy Teigen’s Bed Hair

Superwoman Chrissy Teigen has managed to fit a lot into 2016. She had a baby, released a bestselling book, trolled Donald Trump like a beast, and managed to shock and delight the world with the biggest wardrobe malfunction of the year. She also treated herself to a new look. Gone are the beachy ombre waves and, in their place, is a straighter, more angular cut, and a choppy texture. It is longer at the front and sides, than it is at the back, which gives it that shaggy, ‘just got out of bed’ vibe.

Irina Shayk’s Curls

Russian model Irina Shayk has been having a busy year too. The supermodel is expecting a baby with actor Bradley Cooper. She is known for her striking features, dark hair, and smouldering eyes, but she gave fans a treat after experimenting with blonde locks. These loose, romantic curls are great for ladies with long hair, as they allow the texture and definition to pretty much sort themselves out. All you need to do is apply the right products. To avoid frizz, you’ll need a smoothing balm or serum. Apply it after washing and air drying.

Ashley Graham’s Slick Back Hairstyle

Ashley Graham is undoubtedly one of the role models of 2016. The curvalicious supermodel has been showing the world that ‘plus size’ can mean anything that you want it to. In a world obsession with size zero fashion, she is a breath of fresh air. We also love the slicked back ‘do that she’s fond of wearing. It is one of our favourite styles of the year, because it creates such a grown-up glam, while never being too harsh or severe.

Blake Lively’s Subtle Crimp

The hottest couple in Hollywood just cemented their reputation as the funniest couple on Instagram. Ryan Reynolds’ post about his first date with wife Blake Lively was one of the most liked and shared of 2016. Lively is also responsible for a red carpet revival of crimped tresses. The actress has been crazy for crimping just recently and we’ve got to admit that there’s something wonderful about this retro style. We particularly like the trend for subtle crimping that cropped up; not styling the whole hair, but just adding bits of texture here and there.
