It is a popular style, because it adds texture, without making the hair too unruly or unmanageable. Big, bold ringlets are gorgeous, but they can be very tricky to maintain throughout the day.

Step One: Wash and Deep Condition
The first step is to give you hair some love and attention in the shower. We advise you to skip the shampoo, though, especially if you washed it the day before as well. Skipping the ‘poo is now a proven way to help your tresses recover faster from daily wear and tear. Go wild with the conditioner, though, because it will pack in moisture and get your hair looking really shiny.
Step Two: Clip the Hair into Sections
If you’re a big fan of our clip in hair extensions, this is the right time to carefully attach and blend them. When you section off and divide the hair, do it on a diagonal slant. This will create a softer, less defined look, which is what you want if you’re aiming for loose, romantic curls. It is up to you how many sections you create, but a good rule of thumb is to keep them at around two inches in size. Comb out all tangles and knots before you start styling.
Step Three: Curl on a Moderate Heat
Resist the temptation to push your curling irons to their hottest level. This can damage the hair and it rarely has any major impact on how well or long the style holds anyway. The real secret is using great products. Get yourself a heat protective mist spray and a high-quality hairspray. Now, take a section of hair and stretch it out by the end. Spritz liberally with hairspray and gently wrap the section around the barrel of the tongs. Keep them pointing downwards towards the floor.
Step Four: Spritz and Repeat
Repeat the last step with each section of hair. You only need to hold it around the tongs or irons for 10-20 seconds. This is plenty of time for the curl to set and any longer could burn the hair. Release it carefully, so as to maintain the bounce, and spritz each section with hairspray when finished. It is best to use a light hairspray, which isn’t going to leave a heavy, slippery residue on your tresses.
Step Five: Brush It Out
The final step is to take a broad paddle brush and gently tease all of those tousled curls out. Be careful not to apply too much pressure; you want to kind of shake them out, rather than vigorously comb the hair. Alternatively, you could just use your fingertips to loosen things up and release that beachy, dreamy vibe.
