New way to created a twisted ponytail

So, confession time, like many of you, I pigged out over Easter. It happens and it was so yummy and worth it. I am now getting into a health kick and am totally obsessed with ponytails. This one is great for post-workout hair and looks really posh. I love it when is see a lovely twist at the end of a ponytail like a ringlet. It is hard to create, or so I thought. In today’s step-by-step tutorial I want to share with you all an amazing style that is easy and looks great. #wearcliphair

Step number 1: preparation

I am going to assume you are creating this look at the gym with a couple of products and a hairdryer so washing your hair is not an option. With that in mind, put in your dry shampoo and massage it into your roots. This will make your hair feel less gross and give your roots some lift. Add your Cliphair extensions to give your hair a more tailored look. Brush these through to blend. As you are going to have your hair pulled back a great hack is to move your hairline back with your fingers and lightly spray with a loose hold hairspray. This will keep flyaways at bay and keep your roots with loads of volume.

Step number 2: create your shape

Brush your hair into a mid-height ponytail and secure. Pinch the sections above your hair tie so you don’t lose anybody. If you have an old toothbrush or the back of a comb spray it with some hairspray and gently sweep over this section to get rid of flyaways (these are always a problem post workout).

Step number 3: form your twist

Now to the exciting part. This is such a small detail but it makes all the difference. Rub some hair mousse and heat protection serum into your fingers and run them through your hair. Wrap a few strands around the hair tie to conceal it and pin in the back. Twirl your finger around to help form a large curl. As you are twirling use a hairdryer to help dry out the mousse and help it set and keep the shape of the curl. Once the mousse has dried stop twirling your curl. Use your fingers to get the curl exactly the shape and flow that you want then add a generous about of hairspray to help upkeep the twirl in place all day.
