5 strand braid hair tutorial

This braid looks incredible and is perfect if you want to get some serious compliments. It is not a 5-minute look but it is well worth it. Being made with 5 strands makes it beautifully intricate and will stand out. It is perfect if you want to make your second-day hair look special and you know you are going to have loads of pictures taken. To get this incredible look keep reading this step-by-step tutorial and show it off by #wearcliphair.

Step number 1: preparation

To begin this look make sure your hair is thoroughly brushed. If you are rocking second-day hair work dry shampoo into your roots and put in your Cliphair extensions. Now, gather the top section of hair at your crown area and divide this section into 5 mini sections/strands. Let’s call the strand to the left strand number 1 all the way to the strand on the right which is number 5.

Step number 2: Begin your braid

This is a little complicated at first so make sure you pay 100% attention. Bring strand number 1 under strand number 2 and over strand 3. Take strand 5 under strand 4 and over strand 1, which is now in the middle. This is the first row of your 5 strand braid, not so hard really. Rename your strands to keep life simple.

The strand that is now on your left side is strand number 1 through to the strand now on the right which is now strand 5. Take some hair from near your left temple and add it to strand 1, now take strand 1 understand 2 and over strand 3. Next, add some hair to strand 5 and then take strand 5under 4 and over 1, which is now in the middle.

Step number 3: repeat, repeat, repeat

Repeat these steps until you get just behind your ears then hold all of your strands and so they don’t get lost or tangled. This is a great time to pinch the outer edges of the braid you have already made so it is full. Once you get to the nape of your neck you can choose to either finish your braid. Thereof to continue all the way to the end of your hair.

If you are continuing to the ends make sure that you pinch the edges regularly so that the braid looks uniform all the way to the end. Once you are happy with the length of your braid secure it with a thin hair tie. Make sure you leave enough hair at the end to wind around the hair. Tie and pin in the back so the hair tie is concealed, finish off by adding some hairspray.
